The Reykjavík Feminist Walk is a walking tour in the heart of Reykjavík that focuses on the history of women and marginalised people in Iceland.
My name is Tinna Eik Rakelardóttir and I’m the founder and creator of the Reykjavík Feminist Walk (also Reykjavík Women’s History Walk). I’m an Anthropologist and I have a Masters Degree in Innovation and Business Development.
I have lived in Iceland for most of my life, with very short stints in the US and the UK. As a child I had some great role models in Icelandic women, from my single mother who decided to go to university when she was 30 with two children, to the singer and multi-talented artist Björk Guðmundsdóttir and Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, the first woman in the world to be democratically elected as president, and who also happened to be my neighbour.
So naturally I’ve always been a feminist ✊
I founded the Reykjavík Feminist Walk in the autumn of 2019 by doing research and some test tours and then planned on going into it full steam in 2020, but that didn’t end up happening because of the pandemic.
Please note that I don't accept tips and that the prices below are the full prices for the tour.
The Tour Price applies to the usual Reykjavík Feminist Walk with its set starting and end points (see 📍Starting point and 📍End point below👇).
